I'm not really sure why I'm bothering to post anything today as there's not much to report.

Actually, I have a minor rant I want to get off my chest:

You guys know, either from talking to me or from reading my posts, that I'm a big Flash fan, right?  Wally West in particular.  It should come as no surprise then that I am pretty upset that Wally hasn't been mentioned in any of the articles I've read about the big DC shake-up taking place in September (Hey DC, what happened to the "Speed Force" book Geoff Johns told us at SDCC last July that Wally was supposed to be in?).

Actually, maybe I should be glad!  Afterall, it seems like they've been busy screwing with the origins of just about every DC character (this is from what I've read in the news, obviously I haven't read any of the stories yet, so I'm going on rumors and press releases).  I don't necessarily want Wally's backstory to be fucked with.  I'd hate to see the awesome origin story we got back in Flash issue #62 (early May 1992... pick it up!) completely re-written and destroyed.  No offense to Geoff Johns, but it would break my heart to have Wally's new origin start when he was walking the mean streets of Keytroit, er, I mean Keystone, and saw his mom gang raped by Mirror Master, Pied Piper and Trickster, then murdered by Captain Cold and Chunk and that Aunt Iris was blamed and thrown in jail and THAT'S why he decided to become a superhero (so he could prove that she was innocent).  So yeah, maybe I should be glad he's been absent from the solicitations.  OK - I've changed my mind, I'm not angry at the lack of Wally West in the September solicitations anymore.  Thank you DC Comics for leaving Wally off the roster!!!!

Okay, I'm done ranting about that (for now....don't get me started on the costume design change rumors though.).  Wow, I'm tired!

Work's busy, but manageable.  Long hours, long days, long weeks.  Nothing new there!  I've been able to resist going in to the office on weekends and staying too late in the day though.  A year ago it was quite a different story, I used to live at the office.  Weird thing is, I'm no worse off for keeping my weekends / evenings to myself.  How awesome is that?  Sure, every so often I need to go in and get stuff done, but it's more the exception, rather than the rule now.  Hooray, progress!!!  Forced relaxation.  That's why you read blog entries on here where I've delighted in weekends where I did absolutely nothing.  Some people might think it's weird, but I still see it as such a luxury to be able to have an open weekend once in a while where all I do is sit around, and if I feel like it, watch DVD's, bake, cook, read books (or comics), and sometimes never set a foot out of the apartment.

Ah well, back to grind.
