It's been a few days since I blogged, so I guess it's catch-up time.
Surgery Thursday went well. Took an hour, just like I thought it would. I'm not sure how many stitches I got, I think it's somewhere between 11-15. My doctor has such small hands he's able to make small incisions! Turns out that the tag that came back positive was the one on my upper arm, so at least it's easier to keep dry than the one on my stomach. LOL. Only thing is, if people see the bandage, they think I got a tattoo and ask me what I got.
I was able to go into work Friday and only left about 20 minutes earlier than my normal time, so I was still there almost 10 hours. They can't complain that I'm not putting in my time!
Went and got highlights done on my hair Saturday. It took OVER THREE HOURS. They didn't come out like I wanted, but they're okay I guess. The problem was that the area he started on lifted a lot more quickly than expected, so the part he did last hadn't caught up when the bleach was ready to be washed out of where he started. Anyway, Alex decided that he was going to put a toner on them, so it wouldn't matter. I told him "I don't care, just make it look nice". Well, he put a copper toner on them and it sort of stuck to the rest of my hair too. I went to all the trouble of becoming a brunette again and now instead of having brown hair with copper highlights, I have dark reddish brown hair with copper highlights. I'm hoping the toner will fade off the darker hair with a few washes. Long day! I can't tell you how many times my hair was washed! It was exhausting. Sitting around, reading and having someone do your hair isn't always relaxing. Especially when you have Guiseppe Franco himself bouncing all over the place. His station is near Alex's and he's always "UP". Running around, telling jokes in his NY Italian twang, paging people, checking on everything. It's his salon, so I guess he could do what he wants, right? At one point, he ran right into me when I was walking back to Alex's station from getting my hair washed. He felt bad and grabbed my arm to steady me..... right where I had surgery. I about passed out! I just sort of forced a smile and went on my way. I think he thought I was a bitch because I didn't say anything, but I doubt I could have verbalised anything other than "You asshole, you just grabbed an arm full of stitches!".
It was cool to see that Alex still has the Superman pin I gave him from Comic-Con years ago taped to the inside of the door to his cupboard at his station. Right above the topless redhead drawing. Two things he holds dear: My Superman pin and redheads. Ha!
Sunday was fun. Ginny and Josh's wedding was lovely. Strangely, I'd never been to a Jewish wedding before. I thought I had at some point, but when I thought about it, nope. Ginny was a beautiful bride and Josh was a handsome groom. It was strange seeing both of them without their glasses on! Turns out that neither of them could see a thing during the ceremony or the parts of the reception when they didn't have their specs on. :-)
The reception was loads of fun, we had the best table in the room. After years of knowing him, I finally got to meet Steve's wife Kelly. We all knew each other from going to concerts and we are all around the same age, so the conversation never lagged. It all started off with: Is it possible to name the top ten 10 of the greatest albums of the 1980's. We found that it was pretty much wasn't possible because we liked more than 10 bands that had albums out in the 80's. PLUS, some of our favorite bands had more than a few albums out in that decade. We even tried to limit it to certain genres. Still not possible. We'd come up with one band and album, say "Echo and the Bunnymen's Killing Moon" and then someone would say "What about XTC's English Settlement?", which led to The Clash, The English Beat, Peter Gabriel, etc, etc, etc. Plus, trying to remember if albums were out in 1979 or 1980 or 1989 or 1990 was hard. We'd get tours and album releases mixed-up. It was fun. What did we do before Smart Phones where we could look things up?
Our booth was next to the Bride and Grooms table, so we were surprised Ginny didn't pop over the booth and chime in with her answers. I think we all met her at some concert or another. She's even arranged her honeymoon around a concert date. They can't leave until AFTER Neil Finn's show at the El Rey next week and Ginny's worried that They'll add another date and she'll miss it. I think she'll be okay though. If they haven't added a date by now, I doubt they will.
It was also decided at our table that Del Taco has the best french fries, especially late at night. EVERYONE knows that, right? Right? RIGHT?!!??
I don't say this too often, but I really like the dress I wore. I had to take it in and pin it in the back, but because of the fabric, you couldn't tell. If you can believe it, I didn't wear a black dress! Come to think of it, I didn't wear black all weekend. I must be getting sick or something! The dress I wore was different shades of blue with a wine color. I'll try and post a photo here later. It will probably only be the top part though. I don't think I took any photos standing up. Yes, I did take a couple of pictures. You can pick your jaws up off the ground now.
Here's a link to it until I can post a photo:

Got home from the wedding reception around 4pm and pretty much crashed. Took off my heels and everything, showered and watched Gilmore Girls DVD's with Gotham until bedtime.
I had things I needed to do this weekend and didn't do any of them. Argh!
I'm going to a Web Soup taping tomorrow night. That should be cool. I guess when I emailed them about 8 months ago they must have put me on their email list to let me know of taping schedules. Now I have to figure out what to wear. If I remember correctly, TV tapings last a long time and it's usually cold.
Hmmmmm, much to think about.
Have a great day and be nice to a jerk today. It pisses them off.
