Are you sitting down? I actually went out last night. On a WEEKNIGHT! I wasn't going to go since it was a category 9 awful kind of day, but I forced myself. I met my friend and we went and saw a taping of Web Soup's season 3 premiere episode.
I can't tell you how glad I am that I went. First off, because it's a straight shot over the hill and easy to get to, secondly, because it was the first time I've really laughed in the past few months. We were sat in the front row and methinks Chris Hardwick may have a teeny tiny thing for my friend. If we go again, I'll have to see if we can get front row again. Yeah, I'll totally play matchmaker! We saw him one other time when he hosted Cinematic Titanic's performance of "East Meets Watts" at Largo and he'd come up to her there too (during the movie). Last night he zeroed in on her and even stroked her arms.... TWICE. It was awesome! Maybe it was her Doctor Who T-shirt (10th Doctor) or her "Exterminate" pin? I mean, the only mention I got was during "This Week in Fail" when he says "You know it's bad when a chick automatically crosses her legs in pain" (or something like that). I was the "chick" and the clip was bad!
It was a really good taping with hardly any pick-ups and the material was hysterical (Things You Can't Unsee was especially gross/funny). I'm still pissed-off that DirectTV took G4 off the programming grid. The only way I'm going to be able to see the show is at tapings. The crew was nice and pretty laid back. They even have their own groupie, some dude who knows everyone's name. I mean EVERYONE'S. From the admin staff to the camera guys, to the directors. He would make loud jokes and comments during the times we weren't recording. Usually not funny either. I felt kinda bad for him. And for his high water pants. How long has it been since you heard of someone wearing high waters? Well he was! The audience for the show was really small, they only have about 50 seats set up. The studio is small too. I guess they also use it for E! News and shows like that too.
I doubt I'm going to go to the taping on Thursday. I got home kinda late and had a really hard time getting up this morning. By the time I was ready and in bed, it was after 10pm, so I got less than six hours of sleep. Not good. If you think I'm cranky normally, just wait until you have to deal with me on less than eight hours of sleep.
Most of my friends know how uncomfortable I've been with my weight loss since I've been sick (I think I'm at 30lbs down now), but I can tell you that the camera does indeed add weight. From what I could see on the monitors, I look like I always do. Same with the photo I'm going to post below. Either that or I just can't see it because it's me and you know how I am (thanks mom!).
Enough about that! What happy topic can I come up with? Hmmmm. Lady GaGa is only 25? I saw photos from the new Wonder Woman show, I hope it's good. Glad the red boots are back. Still not sure about the costume. Looks too much like JMS's and Jim Lee's revamp.
How sad are those? Maybe I'll come up with a good topic later.
Okay, so the photo below is from the reception I was was at Sunday. You know who I am and who my friend Sandy is, so that leaves the bride, my friend Ginny. Doesn't she look beautiful? I look like I have a load of oil on my face. Weird.
Be good to others today, you never know when you will need them.
