Went to a Web Soup taping last night. Great fun! Not as good as last time, but still fun. I think I'm going to go next Tuesday as well. I get home a little late, but it's not too bad, apart from having to park really far away from my apartment and having to walk up a hill in the dark to get home. They tape early and there are very few pick-ups, so we're out of there in about an hour or so. Too bad the timing with available parking in my neighborhood is so off. The show goes just like it does when it's broadcast, so it's just like watching it at home, if you're not like me and have have regular cable instead of DirectTv. I miss G4! What a great cast and crew that show has, it all looks so effortless. I bet they're in rehearsal forever to get it to flow like that.
For those keeping up - I had fantastic luck last Saturday shopping with Deanne for the most difficult portion of my costume. It fits like a glove, is lightweight and was only $30! I would have never found this store on my own, as it wasn't in the best area of, I think, Montebello. I'm not sure though. Might have been East LA. It was a hole in the wall that you'd miss if you blinked while driving by. Everything inside that they had displayed was covered in dust / dirt and kinda faded since they keep the door open and I doubt they ever change their displays. I couldn't believe it when I put it on. It felt right! the first one felt really wrong and uncomfortable. Who knew the second would be so awesome? The second! Amazing! I'm so happy with my purchase! Only a couple of things left to get now. I'd be done already if some of the things I already bought last year still fit. Unfortunately, I have to go get smaller sizes for the remaining things. I hope I have the guts to wear this in July and that I don't just wait for Halloween. We'll see!
The folks are in town this weekend, so we are going to have an early birthday dinner this Saturday night. Too bad they aren't going to be here for the actual day. It will be nice to see them though, we haven't seen each other since Christmas.
I finally got all caught up on Doctor Who this past Saturday night. Just in time for BBC America to NOT show new episodes over the holiday weekend! I watched St. Trinian's as well. Very funny! Kinda stupid, but funny. Rupert Everett is great in drag. Now I need to watch the sequel. David Tennant is in it, which is good, since a lot of the cast has been on Doctor Who at some point.
I signed up to take an online class that starts in a couple of weeks and goes through to early August. I just hope I have the discipline to keep up with the coursework. I was a terrible student in college. If I had to study for something, I was hopeless. I have to do well in this class! No other option is available! Unfortunately, it's such an obscure subject that if I have trouble, I don't know anyone I could ask. Except for a friend of mine who lives in Atlanta. I may be able to ask them, but it might be weird since we lost touch when they moved to Atlanta. Nah, I won't ask them.
Well, that's about it for now. I'll try to blog more later.
