It’s been a busy few weeks. Well, busy for me!

I went out to Palm Springs a few times for art releases and another time for a modernist charity event. Both were a lot of fun. The neat thing about these groups is they really get into a mid century or 1960s / early 1970’s vibe. At the charity event most people came dressed thematically, which I didn’t really know about, but luckily I kind of dressed that way anyway so I was good. Best was there was one lady who was there who look like she stepped right out of a 1974 Colombo episode. I swear, she was amazing! Wore, a really flowy sheer caftan type garment over a more fitted gown and had her hair up with ringlets down by her ears. She looked exactly like someone in a Columbo episode who would have murdered her rich, problematic husband and was trying to get away with it. It was awesome!

I had the Doctor Who convention which wasn’t a lot of fun to be honest. It was OK, but nothing to really make note of.

Oh yeah,  I got about 4-5 inches cut off of my hair too! Wow! So weird to have short-ish blonde hair!! I’ve had long hair for a while now, so not being able to put it in a ponytail or bun is scary. It had to be done though. It was driving me crazy there were parts that my hairdresser couldn’t bleach lighter without destroying the hair, so it was kinda brassy and the rest was more on the platinum side. There’s still a little left, but it’s not as noticeable. It’s still weird to look in the mirror and not see a brunette with some blonde staring back at me! I’m still not entirely sure it suits me, but here we are! Now it’s time to grow out what I just cut off, lol.

I went down to Long Beach to see Charo last weekend. Now THAT was a lot of fun! I tried to explain to people at work who Charo was, and no one knew who she was! I guess it’s a generational thing. But what a beautiful performer, such talent and such heart. I’ve got a comedy show this afternoon which should be a lot of fun. Sir Patrick Stewart is one of the guests, so I’m looking forward to it. I saw him in Hamlet in the UK many years ago, and this show is definitely not that high brow.

Work has been really busy. I’ve been approached about adding another role to my job. I don’t know that it is something that I really want to do but I’m not sure I have choice because the person asking for me to do the extra stuff is everybody’s boss. You can’t really say no to everybody’s boss, right? He mentioned paying me more, but it bugs me the stuff he’s gonna want me to do is part of someone else’s job. Someone who doesn’t seem to do shit, but is young and pretty and gets away with everything. She actually came up to me this last week and asked if I could take notes during our weekly management call. THAT’S HER JOB ON THE CALL. I politely declined and she gave me sad face. Too bad, I have my own stuff to do. I think our boss believes she’s going to quit because she’s not happy being asked to be accountable for her tasks. UGH, I can’t say I’m too enthusiastic about my job. I decided to take Holy Thursday off, not for religious reasons or anything but just to have a four-day weekend. My coworker that I back up is taking all kinds of time off and it seems like I don’t, so I thought what the heck I’ll take a day. I’ve been capped at my maximum accrual for a while now. The only time I really took for over a year was a few days at Christmas so I think I’m due for a day off. We get Good Friday off, which is weird, so I figure why not take the day before? The coworker that I back up is taking the Monday off so I couldn’t add that.

I’ve done a little bit of redecorating of my living room. Not a lot, just some furniture rearrangement and I changed the curtains, you know that kind of stuff. I really like the new curtains, they’re a light robins egg blue. I got new shear curtains as well since my weirdo cats scratched the old ones.

I’ve been enjoying the rain, but it looks like we’re not going to get any more for a while.

Wellllll, I should do something productive today, so better jump. Might write more later.
