Well, Happy New Year everyone! I really hope 2024 is better than the dumpster fire that was 2023, that’s for sure. I lost two very important beings this year and I’m not sure I’m over either of them. I’ve always done my best to see the beautiful things in life and now we’re in a new year I’ve been making a more focused and concerted effort to continue to do just that.

So, how were the last few months? Meh-They were okay.

I went to see my folks over Christmas. No rain or snow which was a bummer and quite unusual. Global warming is a myth though, according to my redneck co-worker, lol! (SMH). I had a good time regardless. My dad and I watched a classic movie and a Liverpool match, both were great. I had pizza for the first time in about 2 years, so that was AMAZING! I’m not sure why I haven’t had pizza in so long, boy was it good.  Only bad thing is, even though I was on vacation, I worked every day, even Christmas.

Flew home on the 27th, had a client reach out as I was going through airport security. I called them after I was on my way to the gate. They wanted me to do some work and I’m like “um, I’m at the airport coming back from my time off and am without a secure connection” “I’ll call you at 3pm?” “I won’t be home by 3pm and we’ll be past any cut-off times anyway, but I will be in the office by 4:30 tomorrow morning” “okay, I’ll call you first thing”. Guess what? I had to call them at 11:30 since I hadn’t heard anything. They didn’t call me back until the next day! Then it was something we didn’t need to do until the following week, lol!

I found out yesterday my friend who went home to England passed away. I’m gutted. It was expected, but still hard. We’d talked about me visiting this year, but one of the last things he said to me before he left was he knew he’d never see me again. He knew. Too young. I’m thankful he’s at peace though. I’m going to try to meet up with my friend Sam and go to The Kings Head and raise a glass for T.

I’ve got tickets to a 35th anniversary screening of 1989’s Tim Burton Batman for tonight. I’m really excited! There will be a symphony there, so the score should sound incredible. They recommend we dress up as a DC character, but I’m WAY too old for that, lol! I’m glad this on a 3-day weekend, I’m behind on chores, so I’ll still have time to get things done and still go out and do stuff! Like buy shoes, I need a new pair!

Work is the same, except busier. I’m excited for the 3-day weekend. I took my tree down last weekend and my living room looks weird. I need to spend some time getting it back in “balance”.

I might post more later. My brain is a bit scattered right now, as I’m sure you can tell!
