I edited yesterday's blog by one word.

Got in touch with my friend Vasthy yesterday (Hi Vasthy!) and we may be getting together for her to take some black and white photographs of me in my costume........ I hope you're good at photoshop and airbrushing Vasthy!  Should be fun, if not taxing on her as she tries to convince me that having my picture taken is a good thing and that she can make me look good...... yes, I can guarantee it will be like that, even though it was my idea!  It just seems like a waste to have gotten the dumb costume together only to have it sit in a closet or box because it probably won't be convenient to wear it at SDCC (Sorry Sharon from Golden Apple!).

On another note.............

I really miss my legendary sounding board.

Damn!  I left my phone at home this morning.  Of course I remembered when it was too late to turn around to go back and get it.  Ah well, I've only done this a couple of times in the last few years, so I guess I'm due.

Oh yeah, I hate this goddamn heat. 

I'm starting to feel like I'm Charlie Brown and my life is Lucy with the football.  Let's just keep hopeful and have a positive attitude.  Fingers-crossed it works.

Ok Lucy - I'm ready to kick the football, let's set 'em up.

Bah.

The long holiday weekend starts this afternoon after work.  I hope I can leave a little earlier than usual.  It's always nice to bail at an earlier time and hopefully miss traffic and lines at the grocery store.

My plans for the weekend?  HUGE (not really)!  Laundry, a couple of early morning errands, clean, possibly a little work at the office early Sunday morning (hopefully not), and my annual viewing of Jaws at some point on Monday.  I doubt I'll see or talk to anyone all weekend.  Everyone I might normally do something with either lives way far away or they're broke (like me!).

That's me, living the dream!

Comic Con Saturday Pass Failure Aftermath:

I checked with Amtrak and they have Friday evening trains that leave around 4pm and close to 6pm.  Since I lost out on getting the Saturday pass for Comic Con, I'm probably going to go home on one of those.  If I do, then I probably won't take my awesome costume that I've been working on FOR OVER A YEAR.  I was probably going to wear it on Friday, but if I have to check out of my hotel in the morning and have them hold my bags, I wont have anywhere to change back into normal clothes before getting on the train and I really don't want to be in costume on the train to Union Station, then on an additional train the rest of the way home. 

You'll be able to tell if go home on one of the Friday night trains, I'll be the dejected one sadly walking towards the train station and then sulking quietly the entire way home.  It will be like being on a flight back from Vegas where you're always somber and a lot poorer.  I'll mull it over for a few days and make my reservation adjustments later.

Actually, I should probably just cancel my train reservation altogether and drive down.  If I'm only staying one night, the $30 parking is cheaper than the train.

Have a great Fourth of July you guys.  Don't hold any fireworks in your hands, unless you're fully prepared to have them blown off.  There's always a few out there that we need to cull from the herd, but I'd rather it wasn't one of you...........
